Points To Consider If You Are Producing Business Apps

Lots of companies are finding that mobile applications for business can enable them to become more productive and profitable when they're applied appropriately. By using mobile applications, firms have had the opportunity to make improvements they never knew were possible. Keeping that in mind, there are numerous things that need to be looked at if you are creating these mobile apps for your company.

Exploring The Many Benefits Associated With Apps

You'll find that there are so many different benefits that you're going to be able to take advantage of while you're using mobile business apps. Apps are not just for your consumers, they could also be used by staff in a company. Generally, they allow your company to function anytime, anyplace. They can also result in a higher rate of productivity. While this might look like it's just great news for the sales industry, it can also be great for other sectors as well.

Difficulties You May Face

One of the greatest problems which people have to deal with in relation to designing mobile applications for business use is the fact that there are a range of different Smart phone platforms available. The most common are iOS, Google Android, Windows 7 Phone and BlackBerry. Designing applications that are going to work on each and every platform is not always the simplest thing to do. It will be possible, however it usually takes much more effort and time. So, what options have you got? You'll find that there are numerous things to look at.

Designing For A Single Platform

Whilst you could simply choose one platform and work with it, you'll find that there are likely to be benefits and drawbacks. You must look into these properly before you make your final decision. First of all, you will see that it will cost you a lot less money to develop the software to function on just one platform. Furthermore, it will cost you much less to maintain it. Whilst it costs a lot less, and takes considerably less time to develop the application, it's also going to leave you very restricted. Then, you'll have to question whether or not you're making the most suitable choice in regards to which platform to produce the app for. This can be a hard decision.

Building Your Business Apps For Every Platform

The next option you've got is to develop mobile business apps for all the platforms on the market. This will help make your mobile app more accessible, because it will mean that no matter what kind of operating system (Android, iPhone, Windows Phone 7 or BlackBerry) people are using they are going to have the ability to use your app - and that is good for workers within your business. However, the disadvantage is that it's typically very difficult and costly to create these types of applications. In essence, you're going to be building 8 separate apps. Even though it is demanding, your mobile app is going to be available on every one of the Smartphones and tablets that are available.

Making Use Of Mobile Web Applications Instead

Many firms don't want to deal with the constraints of using one particular platform, and yet do not want to spend the money developing 8 different mobile apps. For these organisations, it makes much more sense to just build mobile web apps. All tablets and Smartphones have one important thing in common - software for browsing the web. If you build a mobile web app, workers are able to use the app no matter what type of device they're using. Also, firms are finding that these apps tend to be more secure as they do not save business information to the device. One disadvantage that you will experience when you use this kind of app is that you are usually not able to use smartphone sensors such as the digital camera, mic, GPS as well as various other sensors. Even so, a lot of companies may find these sensors to be unnecessary.

Arriving at the Right Decision

Developing a mobile application is certainly going to take a great deal of consideration. Make sure that you keep a variety of aspects in the front of your mind. First, you should make sure you know what devices your staff are using. This can be simple if you happen to supply their tablet or Smartphone. After that, you'll want to think about your budget and the time limitations for the application development. And finally, make sure that you are aware of the features that you'd like to use as a part of your application. With all of these things in mind, you will find yourself able to make the right decision for your organisation.

A lot more firms are recognising the huge benefits mobile apps can bring to their business. As well as a much better way to interact with your clients, they can also provide a much more effective way to manage your organisation. With the advent of Web 3.0 or Cloud Computing or platforms.., what we are witnessing is that everyone can innovate. " Nothing could have more apt commentary on how the entire business ecosystem has changed with the advent of the cloud computing.

This is because cloud based solutions offer small enterprises and the SMBs to leverage updated tools and technologies at a cost effective rate.

• Reduced CAPEX: In an age of stringent business conditions, conventional integration solutions can prove to be costly. Not only this, constant updation of the software and hiring a dedicated resource might take a toll on the IT budget. In the case of cloud, enterprises leverage software as a service and pay for what they use thereby, eliminating the need to hire resources and buy software packages.

The cloud has definitely become clearer and is definitely raining in a lot of money. So let us analyze how cloud computing is majorly changing the IT landscape globally. Especially for the SMBs, this means leveraging cloud based services such as Google Apps, Box.net, Quick Books Online, Skype and Highrise. These dramatically brings down the software and computing costs as one does not have to hire resources and pay licensing fees. To top it all, cloud based technologies help SMBs to align their IT infrastructure with the business processes. They recognize the exact IT solutions that they require and leverage them from cloud. These benefits have greatly spurred the cloud development market thereby, scaling up the demand to hire cloud developers.

Let's Make It Joomla for Business

Regardless of the size or scope of the business, any business needs a website. The online market is very potent and yields a lot of revenue. The question, today, is not whether one needs a website or not, but which Content Management System (CMS) to choose.

There is a plethora of content management systems, like Drupal and WordPress, available today, but to be able to get the one which is pocket-friendly and yet state-of the-art, is quite a task. By far, Joomla is the most popular CMS that fits this criterion.

Now, this certainly doesn't mean there's no other quality CMS available. There is of course WordPress which is quite popular although used primarily for blogging. Drupal is yet another prevalent CMS that is very similar to Joomla, but falls a little behind when it comes to Joomla website development Extensions.

So if you are planning to hire developers to help you with the website, (which we would suggest you to because a professional can handle everything that has to be taken care of) you must know full-well what is it that your website is running on, because eventually, it is you who have to be operating it. We list a few good reasons for you to stick with Joomla Website development.

• Verified - The most important question that comes before we buy anything is whether its credibility is verified or not. Joomla website development is a CMS that has been opted for by noteworthy organizations, like Harvard University. This lends it the much needed credibility.

• Templates -The Joomla template catalogue has numerous templates that work just fine for a business requirement. Of course, one can decide to hire Joomla web developers from India who can build a custom Joomla website for you, but if yours is a small business, there is a high possibility that Joomla already has a template that caters to your need.

• Plugins - Joomla Plug-ins enable you to enhance your website's functionality.

• Built-in Features -Enhanced built in features of Joomla Website development make your website light-weight, for fast downloading and a more user friendly interface.

• Open Source Code - Joomla has an open source code which enables your entire tech support team to troubleshoot it for free. If there is a glitch somewhere, it is not a problem anymore.

• Add-ons - Joomla website development steals the show mainly because of the innumerable add-ons that it has. These add-ons can completely turn a basic website into any level of complexity that is desired by your business scope. If it is e-commerce that you are looking for or probably want to expand into, Joomla Website Development makes it very easy.

• Language Manager - It is no hidden fact that maximum revenue generation happens due to overseas orders and web presence makes you more accessible to those clients who are not at a close physical proximity to where you operate from. However, with the Joomla language manager, distance and language are not any problem. Joomla enables you to have a website in whichever language you wish for it to be in, and the admin panel in your own language.

• Free -The most important and lucrative feature is that Joomla is absolutely free. No hidden cost, no upsells, you can avail everything for free along with more than 4000 add-ons.

Enough reasons to choose Joomla Website Development!

Increasing Your Business Growth By Hiring A Web Department

Your website is the first contact that a potential customer has with your business. Your website must be easy to maintain, visually engaging, loved by search engines, business focused, and developed by a professional team. The web department is responsible for developing and maintaining your site. So hiring a separate team for this is the best idea for growing your business.

The members of the web department are the web director, the associate web director, the web intern and the application developers. The major duties of the members of this department are publishing an online version of the paper, coding in CSS, XHTML, and PHP for particular online features, coding in MYSQL and AJAX for web projects, coding in FLASH, PHP and/or JAVA to develop interactive web design applications.

The web director is the leader of the web department who looks over all the members of the team. He/she participates in different kinds of web-related work. He is involved in hiring other members of the web department and providing proper education and training as needed. He/she also makes managerial decisions about the website and influences technology-based decisions made by the board. The position of the director is not an entry-level position.

The associate web director works with the director and is mainly responsible for coding and publication of web projects and features. The associate director can share the web director's work as needed. The position of the associate director is an entry-level, salaried position.

Protect Your Business' Confidential Files With Document Storage Services

You know how important it is to keep your documents and data safe if you manage your own business. Sometimes keeping your paperwork in locked filing cabinets or password protecting your data is not enough to make sure nobody touches them without your permission, or that you will not lose them to hardware failure or fire damage. You should consider hiring professional document storage and backup data protection services to ensure your private information stays safe.

Document Storage Services

Many companies, especially ones that have been around before computers and the internet became popular, have more paperwork and documents than they can handle. While some of these documents can be shredded and tossed into a landfill, there may be many important files you cannot dispose of as easily. You may run out of space in your office if you let these files pile up over the years, and you could end up storing your paperwork in less-than-ideal places. Without proper document storage, you risk letting unauthorized people read your paperwork, and you may find it difficult to find specific files when you need them.

Hiring professional storage services could be the best option for you if you are running out of space. These storage specialists' facilities are usually large enough to store thousands of archive boxes full of paperwork. You don't need to worry about your documents' security either. Reliable storage providers have security protocols and monitoring systems to ensure your documents' safety. They may also organize your files for you, making it much easier to retrieve them when needed. You won't even have to come pick up the files yourself. Storage services often have their own transportation units that can drop your files off at your office.

Data Protection Services

Even if your data is stored on a secure server, there's always a risk someone can gain unauthorized access to it. You may also lose your files to a server crash, or if your hardware suffers some sort of damage. Hiring professional data protection specialists may reduce these risks significantly. They can store your tapes, CDs, and other digital storage media for you. Their facilities often feature state-of-the-art alarms and security systems to keep unauthorized persons out of the storage area.

Keeping your data storage hardware in a locked room with security alarms is not enough to keep it safe. You need to regulate the room's temperature and humidity to prevent any damage to the hardware. Professional data storage facilities have climate-controlled rooms and fire suppression systems, so you can rest assured you wouldn't lose your data to hardware damage.

Hiring Storage Services

You need to be careful when choosing a company to store your data or documents for you. Make sure they provide reliable services and will keep their promise to keep your sensitive information confidential. Look for honest customer reviews and recommendations before making your decision. You don't want to risk handing your paperwork and digital files to a company with questionable reputation.

Courtney Hewitt is a business owner who relies on data protection and document storage firm to keep important business files safe.

It can print color prints at 26 pages per minute and black and white at speeds of 31 pages per minute. The prints always come out exactly the same and look vivid as they come. The machine will continue to print in black and white if the color runs out before you have a chance to replace it so your work will not be interrupted.

SAP Business One Customizations and Integrations Programming With SDK Libraries

SAP B1 is friendly to Microsoft Visual Studio programmers via its so-called Software Development Kit. In the next version 9.0 expected in the fourth quarter of 2012 it is rebranded as 'Business One Studio'. Let's make short technical introduction and then try to talk about cases studies and get popular questions answered. Let's begin with SDK categorization:

1. UI API. 'The UI API provides programmatic access to windows, menus, and events in SAP Business One. The UI API allows you to create new windows, modify existing windows, add new business logic, add or modify application menus, and more.' After introduction from 'Help Center' we would like to mention that user interface modification might be vulnerable to such future projects as upgrades. We would rather recommend you to concentrate on integration type of projects and see next paragraph

2. DI API. 'The DI API provides a programmatic interface to SAP Business One through a set of fully functional business objects. The DI API provides access to the business logic and data-access layers of SAP Business One.' It is much easier to review integration code and recompile it with new release DLL set

3. DI Server. 'The DI Server is an extension of the DI API and supports all its objects. It is intended for high-volume data integration, where numerous client connections must be managed simultaneously and optimized for speed. It is also suitable where Web-services architecture is preferred.' Here you should think about maximum performance

4. Code samples are available in C# and VB. This is one of the reasons for you to consider coding in these languages. However if you are comfortable to translate to your favorite.Net compliant language feel free to deploy it

5. Table structure. Here you have to combine client interface and SDK. Login B1 and in menu View->System Information mark it. Open the form where you need to know the table and place cursor over and read field and table name on the bottom left corner. Write down table name and in Help Center search it. Try the following exercise. Open Sales Order form and place cursor over Customer field. And you should see the field Name CardCode and table ORDR. Then review this table in Help Center Search. If you are comfortable to find the table on your own directly in Kit then go to Customization Tools -> Database Table Reference

6. Integrations. It is recommended first to create user defined tables in client application and then use them as staging objects. You can import records to such table directly via SQL insert statement as it doesn't participate in core business logic. Next step is DI API programming in Visual Studio where you read records from staging table and create AR Invoices, Purchase Orders, etc.

7. Integration with Linux and PHP. This is frequent request due to the fact that custom ecommerce portal are often hosted in MySQL on Linux platform. Good recommendation is to consider SOAP XML Web Service with SDK libraries. Web service is computer platform neutral and could be called from Linux

How Affordable Printer Ink and Toner Can Affect Your Business

Affordable printer ink and toner have a large effect on your business if you decide to use them. Most people would think of this in a negative way but that is actually the opposite of the truth. You do however need to stay away from toners that are priced unusually low. This could be because they are not replacing all components in the equipment. That is the type of toner that could do more bad than good for your company.

A good discounted toner should be just about a third less than regular OEM toners. This means that they are just not putting the money into the materials or energy cost to make the materials because they are already made. They reuse ones that have already been used and recycle them to make new perfect conditioned cartridges.

Using these cartridges obviously save you money. If you are a new business you are going to need to cut corners in any way you can but you really can't afford to lose quality in your product. This is a way that these toners can immensely help your company. Why pay more when you can get the same quality for less?

Some compatible toners are rumored to streak, leak or be less saturated looking. They also have been said that the color is "off" but that is again, only true for the majorly discounted ones. Those are the ones that you will need to stay away from for sure.

You can help with your environment too which will give your company a good reputation if you spread the word about these compatible toners. You can use your saved money to print more or save and use on other things depending on your needs.

Compatible toners work for many different brands which will allow you to use them in your multifunctional machines, fax machines, copying machines and more. Lots of companies are able to expand their business in a short amount of time because of things like using compatible toners.

Compatible toners can allow you to save up to 70 percent of a OEM retail price. That money can really add up if you are printing thousands. The recycling benefits are major because it reduces the amount of waste in the landfills which will pollute the air and water less. It will also save on materials and energy in the factory itself.

The only thing to look out for in this situation is if you get a defective one just as you would have to look out for that with an OEM. It is rumored that compatible toners have more defects than OEM but that is not true. A crinkled page can shift any cartridge causing it to leak.

Affordable printer and toner products are an asset to any small business in need of an expansion. The durability and matching quality of the colors of the toner and inks will help any business to get their jobs done efficiently and with style.

Don't Let the 2012 Olympics Have a Negative Impact on Your Business

As we all know, the 2012 London Olympic games is knocking at our doors. Now although Britain is hosting enough grand events this summer to make even the biggest naysayer proud to be British, August 3rd is also expected to be the most monstrous day for congested traffic in the history of London.

A modest waiting time of more than 30 minutes for boarding a train has been estimated by a recent report published by the TfL. The 22 venues for the Olympic games, as well as its surroundings will be crowded and special measures will be put in place to cope with the expected high increase in terms of traffic. Those measures would include: closure of side roads, banning turns, altering traffic light sequences, parking/loading suspensions, and suspending pedestrian crossings.

Aware that every solution will be welcome to reduce the traffic during these Olympic games, the TfL are suggesting to businesses a few ways in which they can combat the inevitable disturbance that the games will have on usual businesses operations. Things like persuading staff to work remotely (from home or from another location that isn't affected by the traffic), take a holiday (that would be great if they can afford it), or work longer hours are amongst some of the suggestions that have been put forward. I'm not going to get into the details of last two suggestions but, as you would have anticipated, I'll take this opportunity to have a look at working remotely.

Advising people to work remotely is easy to do, but how do you, as a business owner, enable your staff to do so? It's not too late to start implementing the move - even temporary - to cloud-based solutions. Think it'll cost you an arm and a leg? Think again. As an illustration, one e-mail box will only cost you just a small monthly fee on a pay-as-you-go basis. A serious provider should not charge to sign up, nor get you tied in to any long-term contracts.

But first of all, you have to identify how you want your staff to work remotely. Although you wouldn't want to move your core IT applications to the cloud the space of one week, chances are that you could do with some other "commodities" like e-mail to keep the wheels of your business turning - after all, one of the most crucial things to ensure while working remotely is to keep communications flowing. I'm sure your staff already has access to mobile phone communications. Now, you can also proceed similarly with your e-mail system by adopting a Hosted Exchange solution. This will allow your staff to access all their e-mails while being on-the-go, and from any internet-connected device. Not only that, but you will have access to all your business contacts within your email system - just incase you did forget that phone number.

Now, if you have some internal documents where some teams need to work on collaboratively, consider putting those documents on a Hosted SharePoint solution. Not only does it allow teams in multiple locations work on projects on a unified collaboration tools, but it also gives you a strong base for being more effective even though the Olympics is disturbing the traffic in town.

Just in case you think you can handle that Olympics 2012 traffic nightmare, just sit back a bit and look at how some similar, yet smaller event, have affected London: I'm of course referring to the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. Just head out and talk to business owners that have their shop or offices near the venues where the Queen Jubilee's event took place. That event only took place over a weekend, now think of the Olympic games that will spread over multiple days, and you can be sure that you'll want a better solution that taking holidays.

Apple Taking Steps to Make iPad the Mobile Business Tool of the Future

The demand for an entire mobile strategy has begun to grow at a rapid rate in the enterprise world. This is no secret to Apple who has been edging their way into the enterprise app market for the past few years. Armed with a wide array of already published mobile business apps and a wildly popular tablet Apple is looking to take over RIM's spot as the number one provider of mobile business solutions. One of Apple's first goals in achieving this is to make the iPad the business tool of the future.

To prove that the iPad is not just a gaming console and web browser Apple is launching a worldwide campaign to bring in mobile app developers to develop business centric apps. One of the biggest areas that Apple has tapped is Vancouver which is home to an abundance of software companies that have been known to create high quality mobile business apps. Some companies have even switched their attention to solely developing iPad specific business apps.

The iTunes store is comprised of 90 percent consumer apps. To be thought of as a true leader in mobile business app technology Apple will need thousands of more apps to even compete with BlackBerry. One senior mobile industry analyst, Kevin Restivo, with International DataCorporation in Toronto believes that "There's a lot to be done by Apple and the developers," and even went on to quip, "There are a lot of glorified calculators out there."

Apple's new mission threatens to overtake Research in Motion's BlackBerry platform which once had a strangle hold on the enterprise market. It also sets Apple apart from its biggest competitor in Google, making it more than just a consumer based company. RIM is not planning to give up easy though with plans in motion to take back the mobile enterprise app throne. RIM's BlackBerry Play Book has all but failed to make a big difference for the company, but they are retooling it in hopes to compete with the iPad in the enterprise world. RIM is also offering incentives to mobile app developers to develop mobile business apps for the BlackBerry app store.

In an effort to expand their reach further Apple has made a point to focus on business apps of all sizes. They understand that large corporations are not the only entities that can benefit from the use of mobile business apps on the iPad. The iPad allows small business owners to be in charge of operations while performing tasks such as invoicing, budgets, and ordering from anywhere. Small business apps may even be considered a higher necessity than larger enterprise apps due to the overwhelming need for them in the market.

Even with Apple's push to take over the business sector with the iPad many analysts still believe that RIM has nothing to worry about. While Apple may be making strides in mobile business offerings analysts point to RIM's overabundance of experience as the key to their continued success. Apple has a long way to go and many challenges to face before they will be able to play at the same level as BlackBerry when it comes to mobile business solutions. While it may seem as though Apple is just dipping their toes in the water some believe that Apple new that this is the direction they planned on going with the iPad all along.

7 Reasons You Need to Mobilize Your Business Today

There are a lot of new and exciting marketing strategies formulated every day in an attempt to penetrate into the public's interests. One of the most effective, cutting-edge marketing methods being used today is mobile marketing. Thanks to the overwhelmingly popular smartphone, businesses can no longer ignore the importance of a mobile-friendly presence if they really want to reach their target audiences.

Mobile marketing encompasses many different types of marketing techniques and strategies that help businesses increase profits and ROI. The most popular forms of mobile marketing today are: mobile-friendly websites, mobile apps, SMS text message marketing, and QR (Quick Response) codes.

You may be wondering why everyone is hopping on the mobile marketing bandwagon.

This should help clear it up:

Consumers are using their mobile devices to access the Internet more than ever before - and it's expected to grow at astonishing rates over the next few years. If your business is not using mobile methods to attract customers, you are simply missing out on business.
There are approximately 4 BILLION mobile subscribers across the world. This means that you can target pretty much anyone using mobile methods.
Most mobile device users keep their phones within arm's reach over 90 percent of the time. So if you use SMS Text Message Marketing, most of your messages will be opened and read by your recipients within 15 minutes. This leads to higher promotional redemption rates, which leads to more sales, which leads to more profits.
Americans today are spending an average of three hours per day on the Internet from their mobile devices. Your business should have the proper mobile presence if you want to get a piece of this action.
In 2009, approximately half a BILLION people went online using their mobile device. This number is expected to double within the next 5 years. It's not too late to implement mobile marketing techniques in your business. This technology is still in its infancy and if you jump on board now, your chance of success will be much greater.
By 2014, mobile Internet usage is expected to exceed desktop Internet usage. This means that reaching your audience via mobile methods will be even more crucial if you want to beat your competition.
According to Facebook official statistics from January 2011, more than 200 million users (out of over 600 million Facebook users) access Facebook using their mobile devices; also, mobile Facebook users are twice as active as non-mobile users. Facebook has over 600 million active users, so that means that 1/3 of them are using their mobile devices to access Facebook!

These facts indicate the serious impact that mobilizing your business will have on your sales, profits, and ROI over the coming months and years.
